DESCRIPTION:
“Conceptions” and its partner “Preconceptions were painted in Mexico in late 2006, both the originals have been sold to a client in America. There is clear reference in this painting, both in the name, and in the imagery, to a birth and fertility theme. These elements, along with the bright colours, and the organic shapes, seem to reoccur in work of this period of my career. Around the time I painted this piece, my wife and I decided that we would try for another child, after noticing the two embryo shapes in the painting, a friend said that we would surely have twins, not yet!!!
