DESCRIPTION: Campanula, bell in Spanish, one can almost imagine these flowers ringing out in the soft breeze. The blossoms unfurled from their relatively uninteresting stalks on a sunny spring day in 1998 Vancouver Canada. Quite apart for__________ their exquisite shape, the soft pastel blue petals seemed to capture and then radiate the sunlight, then in the same moment turning almost transparent against the morning sky. Only my beloved oil paint could capture such a transient subject, and freeze it in time. |
