DESCRIPTION:

While I was painting this flower in my

studio in Mexico I was visited by several

of these large bees. I think they were attracted

by the paint fumes, however they all eventually

focused on the flower, heading towards the

centre. This one was so persistent that I just

had to include it in the painting.

DESCRIPTION:

I have always seen “life drawing” as a cornerstone of the artists

repertoire. I still try to get into classes when I can, I find the dynamic

of the group, and the presence of the teacher all helps to free up my

creative energy. This piece started out originally as a fast charcoal

sketch, I attempted to keep that spontaneous energy alive as I

embellished the original drawing.
